Balesin Island Club recently became the idyllic backdrop for a transformative wellness retreat, where guests immersed themselves in rejuvenating Holistic Pilates and yoga sessions led by US-certified mentor Princess Chuyaco. These tranquil, sun-drenched practices were seamlessly paired with invigorating outdoor adventures such as pickleball and windsurfing, all set within the luxurious and environmentally conscious sanctuary of Balesin Island.
More than just a tropical haven, Balesin is a beacon of sustainability. The island integrates innovative eco-solutions—including sea salt beds, a centralized sewage treatment facility, and advanced water recycling systems—showcasing how luxury and environmental stewardship can coexist in perfect harmony.
In collaboration with Anessa, Asia’s leading suncare brand backed by over a century of research and innovation from Shiseido, and global performance wear brand 2XU, One of A Kind Asia launched the One of A Kind Wellness Escape. This groundbreaking fitness and wellness initiative redefines the wellness travel experience, spotlighting the Philippines’ pristine natural beauty while championing local tourism and sustainable living.
The program’s commitment to sustainability and innovation earned international recognition when Balesin Island Club was awarded second place in the “Innovation in Enterprises” category at the UNWTO Awards for Excellence and Innovation in Tourism. This historic achievement marks Balesin as the first Philippine resort to receive such a prestigious honor, further cementing its role as a leader in sustainable tourism and community empowerment.
INNOVATION
The wellness movement has since extended to Metro Manila, with a dynamic back-to-back launch held in Bonifacio Global City (BGC). Health coach and Spartan Boxing founder Christina Dinkel Maningo shared impactful insights on how to integrate sustainable wellness practices into daily routines through mindful movement and intentional living.
Adding further depth, wellness advocates Angelo and Pepper Lozada emphasized the vital connection between physical health and holistic well-being, encouraging a lifestyle grounded in balance, discipline, and self-care.
One of A Kind Asia has also partnered with Greennovation, a sustainability initiative led by Engr. Allan Majadillas and founded by Cip Opena. The partnership promotes sustainable resort solutions, including the development of eco-conscious properties on one of El Nido’s emerging premier islands. Together, they aim to engage individuals, companies, and communities in fostering healthier, greener, and more sustainable lifestyles.
Looking ahead, One of A Kind Asia and 2XU Global are set to host additional Wellness Escape events in the Philippines’ top destinations, including Boracay, El Nido, Dakak, Siargao, Balesin, and Bohol.
Stay tuned for more updates, and join the movement toward a holistic wellness lifestyle rooted in sustainability and purpose-driven tourism.
