Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna has announced the upcoming inauguration of a new, ten-story “Kalinga Center” in December 2025.
This modern facility will function as a centralized hub for essential social services provided by the city hall.
The establishment of the center builds upon Lacuna’s ‘Kalinga sa Maynila’ program, which she initiated upon assuming office in 2022.
This program brings various City Hall services directly to the barangays, aiming to save residents time, money, and effort by eliminating the need to travel to the city center for common needs.
Under the ‘Kalinga sa Maynila’ program, Lacuna personally leads teams comprising heads of different city offices, bureaus, and departments to barangay outreach events. This direct engagement allows residents to have their queries, complaints, suggestions, and requests addressed immediately.
Furthermore, these events feature temporary service stalls set up by various city offices, along with job fairs, free pet vaccinations, and the provision or renewal of identification cards for senior citizens, solo parents, and persons with disabilities.
