Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial bet Benhur Abalos gained strong political support as Angeles City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. and all 33 barangay captains of the city declared their endorsement.
In response, Abalos expressed deep gratitude to Lazatin and the barangay captains, pledging to honor their trust through genuine and effective service should he be elected to the Senate.
As former Interior Secretary, Abalos oversaw all local governments across the nation.
During his tenure, the Philippine National Police recorded a significant achievement by confiscating P33.8 billion worth of illegal drugs within the first two years of the Marcos administration—marking the highest seizure under any administration.
Abalos also led initiatives aimed at rehabilitating persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) through skills training programs in collaboration with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
Earlier, Abalos also received endorsements from notable leaders and organizations, including former Senate President Franklin Drilon, the Liga ng Barangay sa Pilipinas, the Philippine Councilors’ League, the Vice Mayors’ League, and several local government units.
