The Amoranto Sports Complex in Quezon City will serve as a Commission on Elections (Comelec) ballot verification venue for the midterm elections scheduled on May 12, according to Comelec Chairman George Garcia.
“The National Printing Office does not have enough space. Therefore, we will need a bigger space in order for us to maximize the verification efforts,” Garcia said in a Manila briefing.
“The entire Amoranto Stadium is being lent to us for free by the Quezon City government,” he added.
The poll chair also said they are currently getting ready to begin verification efforts.
“We have ordered the procurement of the needed materials so that we can immediately begin the verification activities there,” Garcia said.
Renovated in 2022, the Amoranto Sports Complex has a 3,500-seating capacity arena among its facilities.
