The Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Association of the Philippines (PHAP) has launched a nationwide campaign promoting vaccination at all stages of life.
Titled “IBA ang BAKUNADO,” the campaign highlights immunization as a cost-effective health intervention, with PHAP Executive Director Teodoro Padilla noting that every ₱100 spent on vaccines can save the healthcare system up to ₱5,400.
Timed with the end of World Immunization Week, the initiative underscores vaccines’ role in preventing over 30 diseases, including measles, polio, influenza, and cervical cancer.
The PHAP is also calling for access to internationally approved vaccines for dengue, shingles, meningococcal B, and respiratory syncytial virus. The group urged the government to modernize immunization systems through digital tracking and improved distribution to close existing coverage gaps.
