The Philippine Navy’s Naval Reserve Command (NRC) on Tuesday received a significant boost to its disaster response capabilities with the donation of humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) equipment from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
The donation package included two rescue rubber boats with outboard motors, diesel generators, handheld radios, life jackets, rescue buoys, and other essential disaster response tools and equipment.
“These additional resources will not only capacitate our reserve force but also significantly aid in serving the communities in need,” Navy Reserve Command chief Maj. Gen. Doroteo Jose Jalandoni said.
The Navy said that the initiative underscores the importance of collaboration between stakeholders in addressing humanitarian and disaster response challenges.
