Votes for the Pilipinas Babangon Muli (PBBM) party-list in the coming May 2025 Midterm elections will still be tallied despite the cancellation of its registration by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) over alleged misrepresentation.
The Comelec’s Second Division, which cancelled the registration of PBBM said the party-list may still file a motion for reconsideration.
Votes for the PBBM may still be counted and not considered stray ballots since the decision of the Comelec’s 2nd division is not yet final and executory, the poll body said.
In a 10-page decision, the Comelec’s division approved the petition by lawyer Jess Christian Ramirez, who wanted to revoke the registration of the PBBM party-list, claiming that the party misrepresented itself as a regional political group for Calabarzon, although it nominated only candidates from outside that the region.
