Civic leader doubts POGO links in Que killing

Movement for Restoration of Peace and Order (MRPO) founding chair Teresita Ang See dismissed the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) suggestion that Philippine offshore gaming operations (POGOs) were linked to the kidnapping and death of businessman Anson Que and his driver Armanie Pabillo.

“No basis at all, this just showed the ineptness of the police. They are victimizing the family all over again. Haven’t they suffered enough?” Ang See said.

She added that the family of the victim has no property in Bulacan or any POGO-related businesses.

The PNP earlier said it was looking into the possibility of the involvement of POGO-related individuals in the abduction and murder of the Filipino-Chinese steel magnate.

“As for the POGO issue, that’s one of the angles we’re looking at, that is part of the angle we are investigating and the possible involvement of a group behind this incident and possible previous incidents that were involved in the POGO operation,” PNP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo said.

“We will strengthen our intel-driven efforts to identify the possible groups behind this incident because we are looking into the possibility of the involvement of a group in this incident. We need the cooperation of the Filipino-Chinese community if they have any knowledge or leads,” she added.
