The Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Metro Manila has rolled out Oplan Semana Santa 2025 to ensure a safe Holy Week travel.
The LTO-National Capital Region (NCR) will focus on bus terminal inspections and traffic enforcement across the metro.
“The LTO-NCR will be conducting inspections at bus terminals to ensure the safe travel of our fellow Filipinos this coming Holy Week,” its regional director Roque Verzosa III said.
The initiative, spearheaded by the LTO-NCR Law Enforcement Unit under its Traffic Safety Unit, aims to protect travelers heading to the provinces during the peak travel period.
According to Verzosa, personnel will be stationed at various bus terminals to assess whether public utility buses are roadworthy and compliant with safety standards.
The inspections are complemented by roadside operations to enforce traffic rules and discourage violations commonly seen during the holidays.
LTO-NCR Traffic Safety Unit chief Rocilyn Villaruel cited the agency’s commitment to public safety, saying, “Our goal is to safeguard the public as they journey to their provinces for the Holy Week.”
“We understand the importance of this time of year for many families, and we want to ensure that everyone reaches their destination safely. Our law enforcement personnel will be visible on the roads to deter violations and help maintain smooth traffic flow,” Verzosa added in a statement.
