Former executive secretary Salvador Medialdea has been discharged from a hospital in the Netherlands, according to Senator Bong Go on Saturday.
Go posted a photo of Medialdea on his official Facebook account, saying that the latter was already released after being confined in a hospital for a couple of days.
“Senator Bong Go is happy to announce this Saturday that former Executive Secretary Salvador ‘Bingbong’ Medialdea has been discharged from the hospital after being confined for a few days in The Hague, Netherlands,” he said in his FB post.
Medialdea was taken to hospital when he fell ill on March 18 while about to visit former President Rodrigo Duterte at the Hague Penitentiary Institution. on a stretcher and taken to a hospital via ambulance.
Medialdea was with the former president when he was flown out of the country on March 11 to face his charges before the ICC over killings in relation to the drug war.
He represented Duterte during the first pre-trial hearing of the ICC.
