Speaker leads House in mourning for NE’s Joson

The House of Representatives led by Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez yesterday expressed a deep sense of loss with the passing of former Nueva Ecija Representative Eduardo Nonato “Edno” Joson.

“We were colleagues during the 14th Congress,” Romualdez said in a statement. “His loss is deeply felt by those who had the privilege of working with him and by the many lives he touched through his years of service.”

“As a member of the House of Representatives, Gov. Joson was an avid advocate for the welfare of his constituents, dedicating his stay at the august chamber to crafting policies that promoted agricultural development, rural progress and economic resilience,” the Speaker said.

“His voice in Congress was one of reason and action, always pushing for measures that ensure the prosperity of Nueva Ecija and the upliftment of the Filipino people,” he added.

According to Romualdez, Joson’s leadership was always guided by a deep sense of duty, putting the needs of the people at the forefront of his efforts.

“The House joins the people of Nueva Ecija in honoring his legacy. His work in Congress and beyond will continue to serve as an inspiration to lawmakers and public servants who strive to make a meaningful difference.

Joson, 72, also served as Governor of Nueva Ecija and Administrator of the National Food Authority. There was no mention of the cause of the former governor’s death
