P2-m marijuana plants went up in smoke in Ilocos Sur

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency has destroyed marijuana plants worth P2.3 million in Ilocos Sur.

The search-and-destroy operation in Sitio Nagawa, Barangay Caoayan, Sugpon town was conducted last March 12 in collaboration with the regional Philippine National Police.

PDEA regional director III Joel Plaza said the team uprooted and destroyed 11,500 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants from three plantation sites with a total land area of 4,000 square meters.

The marijuana plants were destroyed and burned on-site during the operation, he said.
