Cebu Pacific achieves high ESG rating

Cebu Pacific has achieved its highest Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance, earning a 46 rating in its 2024 S&P Global ESG Score, making it one of the most sustainable carriers globally.

The S&P Global ESG Score assesses how companies manage their ESG risks and opportunities, as well as their overall impact. CEB’s latest score represents significant improvements across key sustainability areas.

The airline recorded a remarkable 17-point increase in its environmental score, rising from 26 to 43 points. This improvement is attributed to its enhanced environmental policy, strengthened climate strategy, and progress in decarbonization efforts. 

Additionally, CEB continues to effectively manage risks related to water and energy use, waste disposal, and pollutant discharge.

In terms of social performance, Cebu Pacific is a leader in the industry, scoring 51 points—well above the airline industry average of 44. This achievement demonstrates the airline’s commitment to fair labor practices, strict compliance with transportation safety regulations, robust passenger data protection, and effective workforce management.

Furthermore, CEB’s governance score increased by two points to 43, due to improvements in risk and crisis management, as well as steady performance in cybersecurity, information security, ethical practices, and transparency in reporting.
