PAOCC agents arrest woman poseur-scammer

THE Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) has arrested a woman who allegedly posed as a member of the unit and an employee of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) to scam wives of jailed POGO with a promise to release their husbands in exchange for P1 million apiece.

Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said the woman, who reportedly posed as an employee of both the BI and the PAOCC, has been blacklisted by the bureau since 2024.

The suspect was caught in an entrapment laid down by PAOCC operatives who learned of the multimillion-peso scam attempt.

Viado did not identify the suspect, but condemned her actions, warning the public against falling for fixers.   “This person had no authority whatsoever to process anything with the BI. The fact that she allegedly pretended to be a BI employee is infuriating. We will never tolerate those who exploit our processes for personal gain,” Viado said.
