Navy warns of unauthorized recruitment via social media

The Philippine Navy encourages the public to be cautious and verify information regarding military recruitment.

In a recent Facebook status update, the Navy flagged unauthorized recruitment posts by illegitimate accounts circulating on social media, leading to confusion among applicants and its stakeholders.

“This information is inaccurate, and we want to clarify that official updates will only be shared through our verified Facebook page and other authorized channels,” it said.

“We urge everyone to verify information by cross-checking it with official announcements, report misleading posts, and share only our official posts to help spread accurate details,” the Navy added.

The Philippine Navy earlier released an advisory, urging qualified patriotic Filipinos to enter the naval force this year as the organization beefs up its human resources.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines’ (AFP) naval service branch said it aims to hire at least 431 officers and 2,034 enlisted personnel this year.

Interested applicants are invited to visit the Navy Personnel Management Center website for more details.
