NCRPO: Heightened law enforcement cuts criminality by 23.7%

THE National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) sustains its operational momentum, achieving a 23.73-percent reduction in index crimes during the period Nov. 23, 2024 to Jan. 15, 2025 compared to the same period last year.

The region’s consistent decline in criminality was attributed to a number of factors, notably, the intensified police presence in the streets and areas of convergence, comprehensive and balanced deployment of personnel during major events, and creation of a special police force to protect the communities.

At least 976 most wanted persons, along with 1,190 other suspects were rounded during NCRPO’s heightened anti-criminality efforts.

Strict enforcement of local ordinances in the region also netted a total of 349,465 violators.

NCRPO chief Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin cited his men’s “operational milestone” as a result of continuing improvement of operational efficiency.

“NCRPO shall consider these initial operational milestones as our motivation to remain committed in performing our mandate of keeping the peace in Metro Manila," the NCRPO chief said.

"With the help of a responsive community, we shall continue with our “back to basics” approach in crime prevention and solution, while fully embracing innovations in law enforcement," Aberin said.
