President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday said his role leaves him with practically no time off, even during the Christmas holidays.
When asked about his plans for Christmas, the President explained he would be spending Christmas Eve at Malacañang and potentially traveling up north.
He then quickly clarified that his duties never take a break.
“I don’t have off days,” Mr. Marcos said with a laugh.
“We are not included in the vacation, in the holiday, on the weekend. We are not part of that. We’re always on call,” he added.
He acknowledged that while he would spend some quiet time with First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, his schedule remains flexible to address any pressing matters that may arise.
Marcos said he would be in Manila on Christmas Day but planned to visit Baguio afterward.
