Toyota Gazoo Racing brings the street race back

The spectacle of close-quarters racing is all set to return to urban landscapes as Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) brings the second round of the 2025 TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Philippine Cup (TGR Philippine Cup) to Villar City located in Bacoor, Cavite this coming May 24 and 25 – marking the series’ first street race since 2018 when it was last held in Alabang. Previously known as the TGR Vios Cup, the series has a history of successful street races in locations such as Cebu City, McKinley, and Pasay City as well.

The whole weekend is scheduled to be packed with not just racing, but a whole lot of off-track festivities as well. Saturday will feature qualifying sessions and the first Sprint Race, setting the stage for Sunday’s action, which includes the second and third Sprint Races. Complementing the circuit races will be Drag Races, along with Car Club and Gymkhana Exhibitions held on both days. For those unable to attend in person, the entire event will be livestreamed on the official TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Philippines Facebook and YouTube channels.

Beyond the track events, spectators can explore a variety of side activities designed to enhance the experience, which include vehicle displays, test drives, sim racing rigs, food concessionaires, official GR merchandise booths, and live musical performances. OPM icons Rico Blanco and Parokya ni Edgar are scheduled to perform on May 24, followed by Ely Buendia and Bamboo on May 25. Special event-exclusive promotions on Toyota vehicles will also be available.

Andy Ty, TMP Assistant Vice President for Marketing Services, shared, “We have heard how much the racers and fans wanted to bring back the street race… With the races closer to the Metro, we hope more people will come to experience the thrill and joy of motorsports for themselves and perhaps even discover a passion for speed and all things racing.”

The two-day event is open to the public with free admission. Attendees are required to register online at https://www.tgrphcup.com/ to secure their entry pass.

The TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Philippine Cup is sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines and is brought to you by Official Fuel & Lubricants Partner Petron and Official Tire Partner GT Radial, in cooperation with Official Venue Partners Villar City and Brittany.
