Uncomfortable questions

This photograph shows a view of the courthouse on the opening day Monday of the trial of retired surgeon Joel Le Scouarnec on charges of assaulting or raping 299 patients in Vannes. Le Scouarnec, 74, faces charges of aggravated rape and sexual assault against 299 victims, most of them children at the time, in a case that raises what victims and rights group say are ‘uncomfortable questions’. Le Scouarnec told the court ;I have committed despicable acts, I’m aware that the harm I’ve caused is beyond repair.’
