Paleng-qr in Sorsogon.

Sorsogon City launches ‘Paleng-QR Ph Plus’, an initiative of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government to promote digital payments in the public markets, local transport and other business establishments through QR PH, the national standard for quick response (QR) codes, on Dec. 19, 2024. Joining the launch are (from left) BSP area director Alvin Bermido, BSP regional director Tomas Cariño Jr. and Sorsogon City administrator Mark Gerald Guirindola who bought vegetables from a vendor using QR Ph. The BSP and Sorsogon Bankers Association also mounted the ‘Piso Caravan’ which enabled Sorsoganons to exchange their unfit and mutilated banknotes and coins with fit currency or electronic wallet credits.
