Haze over the metropolis

Thick smog covers the skyline over the metropolis which, according to the weather bureau, was caused by ‘thermal inversion,’ a weather phenomenon where warmer air traps pollutants close to the ground rather than allowing them to disperse into the atmosphere, giving rise to a remarkably noticeable layer of fog, especially during the early morning hours.
