The kitchen’s heating up for the Clash of Kawali: Mother’s Day Edition 2025, happening this May 16 at Go Hotels Timog, Quezon City — and this year’s all-star showdown features not just moms, but their very own kids, ready to cook up stories and dishes that hit close to home.
From Caloocan City, Team Boncodin is serving heart and hustle. Raquel, 47, runs a thriving home-based food business, selling breakfast meals and bilao bundles. Alongside her is 11-year-old daughter Glorenz, an incoming Grade 7 student at Amparo High School. “Masarap magluto lalo na kapag para sa pamilya,” Raquel shares — a sentiment that will surely reflect on their dish.
Team Montalban-Villanueva is all about creativity and chemistry. Mom Anna juggles buy-and-sell ventures, home-cooked merienda, and even layout work for legal documents. Her daughter Suzhalle, a K12 grad with a flair for dessert-making and drawing, brings fresh energy to the kitchen. “We just go with our gut — and our pan,” Anna quips.
And from Pandacan, Manila, Team Adrales is spicing things up with 19-year-old student Ailha Adrales from Mariano Marcos Memorial High School, teamed with Jogie Adrales. When asked what makes them click as a team? “Mahilig kaming magluto — kahit simpleng ulam, basta magkasama,” Ailha smiles.
With SM Supermalls, Masflex, Go Hotels, Tip-Top Chicken, Maya Hotcakes, Clara Ole, and the Figaro Group (Figaro Coffee, Angel’s Pizza, Tien Ma’s, Portofino) backing this celebration of culinary love and family bonds, the stakes — and the kawali — have never been hotter.
Who will win the judges’ hearts and the crowd’s appetite? Find out this May 16. Because this Mother’s Day, love is best served hot.
