Hyundai Motor Philippines Inc. (HMPH) continues to celebrate its third year in the country by recently unveiling the all-new Hyundai KONA Hybrid at the Bonifacio High Street Amphitheater. First globally debuted in 2017 and initially available in the Philippines in 2018, the KONA has since garnered international acclaim and its reintroduction aims to diversify HMPH’s offerings and strengthen its presence in the country. The second-generation KONA Hybrid is designed for dynamic lifestyles, featuring enhanced features and modern conveniences.
The exterior of the new KONA showcases a refreshed, futuristic design with aerodynamic lines and Hyundai’s signature LED horizon lamp. The Hybrid Premium variant is distinguished by 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels, rugged wheel arch cladding, a power sunroof, and roof rails.
Under the hood, the KONA Hybrid is powered by a 1.6 Hybrid engine paired with a 6-speed Dual Clutch Transmission, delivering 141 PS and 144 Nm of torque. It incorporates Smart Regenerative Braking and e-Motion Drive for smooth performance.
The interior prioritizes comfort and convenience, featuring a driver-centric cockpit with a floating dual 12.3-inch panoramic display, electronic shift-by-wire system, and an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. Standard features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, and Type-C USB ports. The cabin also offers flexible cargo space up to 1,241 liters with fold-flat second-row seats and a customizable Smart Power Tailgate.
For safety, the KONA Hybrid is equipped with Hyundai SmartSense, an advanced driver assistance system suite that includes Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Following Assist, and Blind Spot View Monitor.
The all-new KONA Hybrid expands HMPH’s growing hybrid lineup, which already includes hybrid variants of the SANTA FE, TUCSON, and ELANTRA. It is available in two variants: the KONA 1.6 HEV GLS 6DCT at Php 1,528,000.00 and the KONA 1.6 HEV Premium 6DCT at Php 1,688,000.00. Color options include Neoteric Yellow, Atlas White, Abyss Black Pearl, Cyber Gray, and Meta Blue Pearl.
