The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) participated in preparations for Oplan Balik Eskwela 2025 as classes for School Year 2025-2026 are set to begin on Monday, June 16.
This was in response to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s call to enhance community involvement and foster enthusiasm among public school students by providing them with essential school supplies throughout the academic year.
Through its Lingap Kapwa Task Force, the MIAA donated 140 assorted school bags and 500 bottles of drinking water to Rivera Village Elementary School and Rogelio Gatchalian Elementary School.
The school bags were sourced from unclaimed lost-and-found items that had been officially turned over to the MIAA, in line with the guidelines outlined in Memorandum Circular No. 05, Series of 2021.
This initiative aims to repurpose items that have been recovered but left unclaimed for an extended period.
“This is more than just a donation; it’s a message of solidarity with our students, teachers, and families as they prepare for the start of the school year,” MIAA General Manager Eric Jose Ines said.
“Education is a shared responsibility, and MIAA is proud to be part of this nationwide effort to create a conducive and inspiring learning environment for Filipino children,” he added.
