Artes, Rubio thank Marcos for continued trust and confidence

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Romando Artes and Bureau of Customs Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio expressed their gratitude to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for retaining them in their respective positions.

“I take this as an inspiration and a challenge for me to further improve my work and service to the people,” said Artes.

The MMDA chief assured the public that he would use this opportunity to continue initiating and implementing programs aimed at benefiting Metro Manila residents, “as the nation moves toward a more resilient and inclusive Philippines under the administration’s Bagong Pilipinas vision.”

Rubio, likewise, expressed his honor in continuing to serve the Filipino people.

“We will strive to promote the welfare of every citizen through the effective fulfillment of our mandate: collecting the correct taxes, speeding up the flow of trade, and intensifying the monitoring of our border security,” he said.

The Customs chief also reiterated his full support for the Marcos administration’s policies and reforms aimed at national progress and development.

Artes and Rubio were among the officials retained by Marcos following his call for all Cabinet members to submit courtesy resignations as part of a performance evaluation and leadership review designed to enhance government efficiency.

“All those retained are expected to focus fresh attention on their mandates and demonstrate improved performance in their respective areas,” stated Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.
