Lim bags double victory at Balangay Open tennis

Fresh from his latest triumph at the Balangay Open 2025, Cebuana Lhuillier-backed tennis star AJ Lim continues to cement his status as one of the Philippines’ most formidable athletes.

Held recently in Butuan City, the tournament saw Lim capture both the men’s singles title and the doubles crown, the latter alongside partner Bryan Ventic Saarenas.

These back-to-back victories not only showcase Lim’s immense talent but also reflect his unwavering discipline and the fiery passion he brings to the court with every match.

As a proud Cebuana Lhuillier Sports Ambassador, Lim has consistently carried the banner of excellence, supported by a dedicated team that shares in his mission, both in competition and in personal growth. Following his win, he took to social media to share heartfelt gratitude.

“Thank you to all who supported me—it would be impossible to win without you,” Lim wrote. “Your motivation and the way you opened my eyes to how I can improve mean so much. I’m truly grateful for all the trust and support you’ve given me.”

Jean Henri Lhuillier, President of Unified Tennis Philippines and CEO of Cebuana Lhuillier—the country’s leading micro-financial services provider—commended Lim’s ongoing success.

“AJ has shown time and again that true champions are defined not just by talent, but by heart and resilience,” said Lhuillier. “We are incredibly proud to have him as part of the Cebuana Lhuillier family. As a staunch supporter of grassroots sports development, Cebuana Lhuillier remains committed to nurturing homegrown talents like AJ and providing them with platforms to shine locally and internationally.”

Beyond competition, Cebuana Lhuillier champions sports as a dynamic platform to foster national pride, empower communities, and inspire the next generation of Filipino athletes. The organization hopes Lim’s success story will motivate young Filipinos to dream big and pursue excellence with passion and purpose.

Up next for Lim is a challenging stretch of international tournaments across Asia, including stops in China and Thailand, as part of his training buildup for the Southeast Asian Games in Thailand this December.
