The Philippine Air Force (PAF) welcomed its newest batch of airmen and women from the Basic Military Training (BMT) “ARGENTUM” Class 2025 Alpha during a graduation ceremony held on May 21 at Fernando Air Base in Lipa City, Batangas.
PAF Air Education and Training Command chief MGen. Jesus Morales served as the guest of honor and speaker during the event.
The ceremony concluded four months of rigorous military training that instilled discipline, camaraderie, resilience, and the core values of the PAF.
Now considered full-fledged members of the organization, the graduates demonstrated dedication and perseverance throughout their training, which are qualities deemed vital for their duties in national defense and service.
PAF Basic Military School Commandant Col. Lee Sarpamones joined Morales in presenting awards to outstanding members of the class in recognition of their exemplary performance. Female soldiers notably figured among the awardees since they secured the top honors.
These included the following:
- Commander, AETC Award: AW Janelle Anne Andres PAF
- Deputy Commander, AETC Award: AW Genesa Jane Eslapor PAF
- Chief of Command Staff, AETC Award: AW Hazel Jhane Callar PAF
- Military Excellence Award: AW Kim Alexander Ramirez PAF
- Academic Excellence Award: AW Maria Christina Caguicla PAF
- Athletic Excellence Award (Male): AM Paul Julyfer Bascon PAF
- Athletic Excellence Award (Female): AW Jackylyn Bihag PAF
- Leadership Award: AW Christine Joy Dalit PAF
In his keynote address, Morales commended the graduates, emphasized the importance of embracing their roles as defenders of peace and freedom, and encouraged them to uphold the highest standards of military service for the Filipino people.
The class name “ARGENTUM” stands for “Aktibo at Responsableng Kapatiran, Gilas at Katangiang Espesyal na Lipon para sa Tungkulin na Umagapay sa Mamamayang Pilipino.”
