Asia Pacific’s leading food and beverage trade show, THAIFEX – ANUGA ASIA, is set to take place from May 27 to 31 at IMPACT, Muang Thong Thani, Bangkok, with a renewed focus on innovation, emerging markets, and global sourcing opportunities.
Organized by the Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce Thailand, the Thai Chamber of Commerce, and Koelnmesse, the event expects to host more than 3,100 exhibitors from over 50 countries and regions. Over 90,000 trade visitors and 2,000 top hosted buyers are anticipated to attend.
This year’s show will highlight the growing diversity of the global food supply chain with new participants from Central Asia, Africa, and Eastern Europe, including countries like Gabon, Slovenia, Slovakia, and Uzbekistan. New country and regional pavilions from Australia, Hong Kong, and the Netherlands will further expand sourcing options for buyers.
“At THAIFEX – ANUGA ASIA this year, we are seeing a surge in purpose-driven innovation,” said Mathias Kuepper, Managing Director and Vice President for Asia-Pacific at Koelnmesse. “Exhibitors, startups, and speakers are rethinking how products can deliver more functional and targeted food and beverage solutions. Some are beginning to use real-time intelligence and AI to create smarter, consumer-responsive products.”
The event’s theme, Beyond Food Experience, aims to showcase the evolution of the industry in response to changing consumer expectations. Highlights include the THAIFEX – ANUGA Trend Zone, curated by Innova Market Insights, which presents leading global and regional trends in food innovation.
Other key features include the tasteInnovation Show, spotlighting finalists and winners in categories like plant-based foods and alternative proteins incorporated into ready-to-eat meals; and the THAIFEX – ANUGA Startup platform, providing 30 innovators the chance to pitch disruptive concepts to buyers and investors.
The Future Food Experience+ and the Alternative Protein Taste & Flavour Challenge will bring together more than 70 industry experts to sample and vote for the best alternative protein products, with winners announced on May 28.
In addition, the Thailand Ultimate Chef Challenge will host over 400 chefs competing across 20 culinary categories, judged by 57 international experts from 12 countries.
Asia Pacific’s food and beverage market continues to grow rapidly. According to Cognitive Market Research, the region’s F&B sector is expected to expand at an annual rate of 8.8% from 2024 to 2031. Thailand remains a critical hub for regional trade, with its food exports forecast to increase by 2% in 2024, reaching $40.7 billion, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
