The Armed Forces of the Philippines–Southern Luzon Command (AFP-SOLCOM) has strengthened its operational capabilities through the donation a 100-hectare land in Quezon Province.
The donation was formalized during a Deed of Transfer ceremony attended by AFP-SOLCOM Commander Lt. Gen. Facundo Palafox IV and philanthropist Merian Reyes, who represented the prominent Reyes family of San Narciso, Quezon. The donated property, part of the Villa Reyes estate, will serve as a strategic site for base expansion in Southern Luzon.
This acquisition is expected to significantly boost the AFP’s operational readiness, territorial defense, and capacity for humanitarian response in the region.
Reyes, a shipping magnate and civic leader, emphasized her family’s intention to foster trust and collaboration between private entities and the Armed Forces. She highlighted the value of public-private partnerships in nation-building, stating that the donation reflects collective responsibility and aims to inspire unity for the country’s peace and progress.
