PNP says election incidents now at 11

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Thursday reported that the number of validated election-related incidents (ERIs) has already reached 11.

The PNP said nine of the validated ERIs were “violent” and two were “non-violent.”

Most of the validated ERIs were reported in Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) with five and followed by Western Visayas with two.

A total of 1,825 firearms were seized by the PNP including 749 revolvers, 508 pistols, 70 gun replicas, 42 explosives, 39 Class A guns, 15 rifles, 12 shotguns, five Class B guns, among others during their implementation of the omnibus election gun ban nationwide.

One validated ERI each in the Ilocos Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Soccsksargen, and Cordillera Administrative Region.

The PNP are still validating the two suspected ERIs cases in the Davao

Region and Region IV-A (CALABARZON).

The PNP said a total of 1,783 persons were arrested for violating the election gun ban. Most of them were from Metro Manila with 577, followed by Central Luzon with 254 and Central Visayas with 249, according to the PNP.
