MORE than 20 kilos of kush or high-grade dried Marijuana worth nearly P30 million was seized by the Bureau of Customs at the Manila International Container Port.
An anti-illegal interdiction operation led by the BOC-PDEA resulted in the discovery and seizure of suspected marijuana on March 7, 2025.
Based on a report submitted by the BOC and PEDEA, the operation took place at the Designated Examination Area (DEA), Container Facility Station 3 (CFS3), Manila International Container Port (MICP), Tondo, Manila where operatives discovered and seized 43 vacuum sealed transparent plastic bags containing suspected Marijuana (kush) worth P29,246,000.00.
The drugs were concealed in two balikabayan boxes from Canada. The boxes were subjected to x-ray examination by Bureau of Customs inspectors where they found suspicious items inside.
The shippers, receivers, and forwarding companies involved will be subject to investigation and may be charged with appropriate charges for violation of RA 9165.
The seized drugs will be submitted to the PDEA Laboratory Service for laboratory examination.
