The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) hailed the three-day cluster meeting of the Regional Cooperation in Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships in Asia-Information Sharing Centre (ReCAAP ISC) in Manila, Philippines, held Jan. 21 to 23.
ReCAAP ISC delegates based in Singapore and ReCAAP focal point governors from Cambodia, China, Vietnam, and Tha land, joined the event.
Representatives from the PCG, the Philippine Ports Authority, the Maritime Industry Authority, along with Philippine shipping industry stakeholders and regional law enforcement agencies, such as the Malaysia Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) and Indonesia Coast Guard (BAKAMLA), were also present.
During the meeting, R CAAP delegates discussed countermeasures on sea robbery in their respective country’s ports and anchorages.
