OCD discourages ‘extravagant’ holiday celebrations among officials, staff

Civil Defense Administrator Undersecretary Ariel F. Nepomuceno issued a memorandum requiring all officials and staff of the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) to adhere to specific guidelines for conducting Christmas parties and year-end assessments.

In light of recent calamities affecting the nation, and in response to the Executive Secretary’s directive discouraging extravagant holiday celebrations in government offices, Undersecretary Nepomuceno emphasized the importance of “mindful and simple conduct” during this year’s festivities.

The memorandum instructs all OCD Offices and Services to approach their Christmas parties and year-end activities with consideration and empathy, fostering a spirit of unity during these difficult times.

All concerned Offices and Services are required to follow these guidelines to ensure that celebrations remain respectful and considerate of the circumstances faced by many Filipinos.
