319 flee homes in Valenzuela amid ‘Kristine’ storm surge

A total of 96 families or 319 individuals evacuated at six evacuation areas in Valenzuela City as of 7 p.m. on Thursday amid storm surge warnings related to Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.

A majority of these affected locals reside in Brgy. Marulas.

According to the Valenzuela City Social Welfare and Development Office, 188 of the barangay’s residents (58 families) are taking refuge at Valenzuela National High School.

They are followed by 114 individuals (31 families) from Brgy. Veinte Reales who evacuated to the Bartolome Covered Court. Another 11 individuals (four families) from the same barangay are at Luis Francisco Elementary School.

Finally, six Valenzuela residents (three families) are currently staying at Lingunan Elementary School.
