Tong was temporarily held as the Immigration coordinated with Chinese officials about his arrest and forthcoming arrival in Shanghai.

“He was allowed to board a flight bound for China as the BI informed the Chinese police about his impending arrival in Shanghai,” Immigration chief Norman Tansingco said.

Tong was reportedly  arrested upon his arrival at the Shanghai.

“He is already in the custody of the Chinese police and is now behind bars pending his trial for the crimes he allegedly committed,” Immigration said.
