Gov’t opens internship program for public service

The Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) have opened a government internship program for 19 young people who want to pursue a career in public service.

The program provides three to six months of internship opportunities for high school, technical-vocational, or college graduates who want to pursue a career in public service in either local or national government.

A meeting was held between PCUP Supervising Commissioner for National Capital Region Reynaldo Galupo and DOLE Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns Executive Director Ahmma Charisma Lobrin-Satumba, to discuss the implementation of the GIP.

Jordan cited the significance for young people to have the opportunity to serve the government even for a short period of time so that they could understand the importance of serving the country, and to help them financially in support of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s vision for a more developed country.
