Christmas symbol

Splashy Christmas lanterns—iconic symbols of Filipino Christmas spirit—are luring passers-by in the first-class town of Cainta in Rizal, east of the capital, with the swash of different lights beckoning would-be buyers, encouraging them to buy at least one, seen as a symbol of the triumph of light over darkness and Filipinos’ goodwill during Yuletide.  Hanging these symbols outside the windows is an expression of shared faith and hope among Christians.
