The Philippine Navy has obtained its “most powerful ship” donated by South Korea. BRP Conrado Yap, formerly Pohang-class corvette (small warship), arrived at the South Harbor in Manila on Sunday, Aug. 18, Philippine Fleet commander Rear Adm. Giovanni Carlo Bacordo said. The vessel has anti-submarine, anti-surface, and anti-air warfare capability.  It was named after Capt. Conrado Yap, a decorated Filipino soldier who was part of the Philippine Expeditionary Forces to Korea during the 1950s.
