There’s a common misconception that there’s always a man behind the wheel of a delivery van. But today, this job is no longer exclusive to men.
Lynneil Gaspar loves to drive, and she particularly loves to drive trucks.
“(In) 2014, nagmamaneho na ako ng truck. Hindi man halata, pero kinakaya-kaya ko lang ang mga truck deliveries dati (I used to drive truck in 2014. Although not obvious, but truck deliveries were easy for me),” shared Gaspar.
She worked with traditional couriers before, but when she thought she could earn more with her time she signed up to be a partner-driver of Lalamove, an on-demand logistics company that matches users and drivers and provides same-day delivery and courier services.
Today, Gaspar is considered one of the best drivers on Lalamove.
“She might look small to you, but it turns out the respect she gets from her clients is what makes her a big woman. This 2018, it’s easy to say that women are playing a major part in the industries and breaking traditions,” Lalamove said in a statement.
