The cases were filed by resigned Bureau of Customs (BOC) Commissioner Nicolas Faeldon.

Faeldon filed the charges after the senators linked him to the smuggling activities at the BOC.

The Senate Ethics Committee has also dismissed the ethics complaint against detained Senator Leila De Lima.

The complaint was submitted by the House of Representatives.

It stemmed from De Lima's alleged instruction to former bodyguard Ronnie Dayan not to attend the House inquiry on the illegal drug trade at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP).

Senators from the majority cast a unanimous vote.

Senate Majority Leader Vicente Sotto, who heads the ethics committee, led the hearing.

Present were Senators Lacson, Franklin Drilon, Risa Hontiveros and Gringo Honasan.

Lacson did not join the voting.
