De Lima asked court to withdraw arrest warrant

Senator Leila De Lima has asked a court in Muntinlupa City to withdraw the issuance of a warrant of arrest against her in connection with a case involving illegal drug trade.

De Lima filed the 10-page motion before the sala of Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 206 Judge Patria Manalastas-De Leon.

The move comes, following De Leon's release of a warrant of arrest against De Lima last November 29, 2017.

The senator has also asked the court to hold the arraignment for the case on December 18, 2017 because she has a pending petition at the Supreme Court.

In the petition, the senator questioned the jurisdiction of the 3 Muntinlupa RTCs over the 3 drug cases she is facing.

De Leon's arrest warrant is the third of such warrants she received over a span of nine months.
