Some commuters saw smoke from the train while others smelled something burning.

Station manager Bong Aggabao cited problem in the train’s brake pad as the reason for the glitch.

The trouble reportedly started at the Central Station (Arroceros) and it continued as the train proceeded to UN Avenue.

The train came from Roosevelt Avenue (Muñoz) in Quezon City and was supposed to be heading to Baclaran station along Taft Avenue in Pasay City.

Normal operations resumed shortly.
