Guiuan’s past

The ongoing restoration of The Immaculate Conception Parish Church in Guiuan, Eastern Samar revealed some remains under the ground below the church’s choir loft. Some remains were also found right outside the walls of the church, which was built in 1597 and destroyed by Typhoon ‘Yolanda’ in November 2013. The remains will be transferred to a special burial site at the Catholic cemetery in Guiuan. Mel Caspe
